The words were once sacred
They told a story
of love, of heartbreaks,
of a life lived
Sometimes they held promises
of times un-lived
The words were few
but they told a story
Now, they are just too many
Insignificant, boring, dull
Everywhere, all the time
A head full of them
and some more
I don't write them down anymore
I don't lend my voice
I sit and stare
as the weightless words
swirl around in a dull dance
Sometimes, in this crowd of dead faces,
I look for words that were once sacred
I wait for them to come to me
and tell me a story
of love, of heartbreaks,
of a life lived
